Teresa is a registered nurse with over 30 years’ experience in various nursing, nurse management and health management roles for West Coast and Canterbury DHBs. Since 2004 she has been based in the community working in the NGO sector.
Teresa was our Nurse Manager from 2010 until January 2021 when she decided to devote her skills to work in the community as an educator.
Teresa enjoys attending concerts, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Carmel Gregan-Ford started as our new Nurse Manager in January 2021. After completing her nursing training in South Canterbury, Carmel went on to complete her renal training in the United Kingdom where she worked for six years. On returning to New Zealand, she worked in a variety of clinical areas across renal services including Clinical Nurse Educator and Consultant for the Strategic Renal Services Review and Pre-Dialysis Educator before taking on the position of Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Coordinator with Auckland DHB. In 2002, Carmel and her family made the move back to the South Island, where she worked as the National Education Manager and then Acting CEO for Kidney Health New Zealand. Following a stint with the Cancer Society, Carmel is now immersed in the Nurse Manager role where she is enjoying utilising her management experience and maintaining and learning new clinical skills. In her spare time Carmel likes to spend time with her family and loves walking in the hills whenever she can.
Amanda has worked as a Respiratory Nurse for almost 10 years. Prior to CanBreathe, Amanda worked predominately with children, nannying in several countries with families from many different cultures. Amanda's personal experience as an asthmatic, as well as supporting family members with asthma and COPD enables her to relate well with those who have respiratory conditions.
Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her (many) pets. She loves animals so much she even got married at Orana Park!
Receptionist / Administrator
Annette is our Receptionist and Administrator. She is the friendly voice at the end of the phone as well as the smiley face that will greet you when you visit our offices. So be sure to say hi when you drop in next time.
Annette has had several healthcare administration roles, primarily working for not-for-profit organisations.
In her spare time, Annette enjoys gardening, hiking and Christchurch’s café culture.
Rosemary is a registered nurse with over 40 years in health. She has a varied background in both nursing and nurse management. Rosemary joined CanBreathe in 2013. As an asthmatic herself Rosemary knows first-hand the difficulties those with asthma experience.
Rosemary enjoys socialising with friends, gardening and reading.
