We provide free lung function tests
Lung function tests check how well your lungs work. The tests can find lung problems, measure how serious they are, and check to see how well treatment for a lung disease is working.
Spirometry is the most common lung function test. To take a Spirometry test, you sit and blow into a mouthpiece attached to a machine called a Spirometer.
The Spirometer device records the amount of air you breathe in and out. Spirometry can measure many different things about the way you breathe.
Spirometry tests are used to help diagnose these conditions:
- restrictive lung disease (such as interstitial pulmonary fibrosis)
- other disorders affecting lung function
They also allow your doctor to monitor chronic lung conditions to check that your current treatment is improving your breathing.
